His philosophy "no chemicals and no animal testing! started with the development of shampoo, and over the years this has grown into a complete range of skin care products suitable for people of all ages.

It all started in the Netherlands.....

The name "Paul Penders" has been synonymous with natural cosmetics for more than 40 years now, and since 1900 his grandmother, grandfather and parents have owned several successful salons in the Netherlands.

From an early age Paul Penders wanted to develop a completely natural, healthy and effective cosmetics line without chemical ingredients.
Dutch herbalist and pharmacist Herma Eeftink and the famous natural healer Dr. Ab Steyn encouraged Paul Penders to incorporate a unique family recipe, a powerful extract of 22 beneficial herbs, in his care products.

The grandmother of Paul Penders used this unique LevensESSENTIE Gold® formula for years as the basis for her extraordinary homemade skin and hair care products.

The LevensESSENTIE Gold® formula is used in all Paul Penders products today!

Fight against animal testing

The story of Paul Penders started in the Netherlands but when the Dutch government in 1984 by means of an ultimatum cosmetics tests by animal testing demanded, Paul decided to move the entire production to the United States. No animal testing was required here and Paul experienced many happy years there.

His many journeys eventually led him to the paradisiacal Langkwawi Island in Malaysia, with its tropical rainforests and exuberant variety of herbs, plants and flowers.
Inspired by the luxuriant fauna, Paul Penders decided to establish his business on the island and develop his products from here.
